Blue... A Purebred Teddy Bear Golden Doodle, otherwise known as the perpetual Gardner Colby Gallery employee of the month, has decided to select a few of his favorite artworks.
Blue resides in Naples, Florida and is constantly surrounded by art and culture. Along with his location and involvement in the Naples Art Gallery scene, Blue finds that his namesake immensely reflects in his exquisite art taste... as you will see if you continue reading.
The first piece Blue wanted to share with everyone is Rolling Tide by Richard Johnson. Blue’s second pick for his guest curation spotlight is Deep Dive II by Katherine Evans. Blue appreciates Evan’s nod to Mark Rothko, as well as the tip of the hat to International Klein Blue of which the hue can be be found in traces within the painting. Blue respects this piece for its eclectic yet classic essence, composition, and of course... for its display of rich color.

A classy pup, Blue appreciates a good Mid-Century Modern aesthetic. Which is why he selected Wendy Westlake’s Truths Once Dreamed Of. The modern composition features a layering of shapes reflective of mid-century modern design. He also particularly likes the color palette of various blues and neutral tones in the painting, puzzled together in a highly developed and stylized manner.
