Corse began following her passion for painting 11 years ago and has accumulated quite a following for her bold, flowing paintings. Painting impasto and alla prima, Corse's paintings are alive with movement. Her most recent series, Water, includes a grouping of paintings of people at the beach or pool.
"Think the pool paintings of David Hockney, done in a painterly, choppy and impressionistic style that harkens back to the impressionists. There’s something utterly contemporary about the bathing-suit-clad figures Eileen Corse paints.” (The Scout Guide) Primarily a self-educated artist, after only painting a year, a local fine art gallery noticed Corse’s work and began exhibiting and selling her paintings. Two other galleries followed suit, then Eileen was selected to participate in Jacksonville’s premier emerging artists showcase, Art After Dark.
Corse has been featured in many juried and local group shows, as well as in articles by local newspapers and magazines, as well as national art publications, such as American Art Collector, Plein Air Magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine and Artist Advocate magazine. Teaching others to paint has become a passion of Corse’s. She now enjoys full classes of students with wait lists.
