Carol’s paintings depict ordinary objects and places we recognize and recollect. They invoke a sense of nostalgia and upon closer inspection are complicated both visually and intellectually. While her subject matter is intentionally isolated, the human presence is never far away. These familiar objects and places summon ephemeral moments and feelings of serenity that are often forgotten in the rush of our everyday lives.
Carol was born in Boston and is a native New Englander. She earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. Carol’s paintings have caught the attention of both private and corporate collectors. Her work has been displayed in a number of regional museums as well as galleries in New York, California, Massachusetts, Florida, Maine, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. When not in her studio, she can often be found wandering in and around the woods and lakes of New Hampshire and Maine.
